I have a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Moesgaard and I will begin my master’s in General Anthropology in the fall of 2022. I wish to specialise in the anthropology of ethics and morality. I am currently working at Mantra, an analytical unit at Moesgaard, and I will also teach the new students of Anthropology as an instructor. Generally speaking, I use these endeavours to reflect upon what anthropological knowledge production and -communication can become.

I have found that Communitas is a place to engage in such a quest, and I am part of the editorial board to help stimulate a process of (inter-)disciplinary sharing; to help build a vibrant academic community and to seize the possibility to engage with and discuss the discipline of anthropology centred around Moesgaard Campus.

Katrine Pahuus

PhD student of Anthropology working with Danish Pentecostal communities in Denmark and Tanzania.

I joined the editorial board because COMMUNITAS has become a labor of love for me. Building a virtual community that facilitates sharing of knowledge and community support is something I had to be part of. For students, faulty and alumni alike, I believe this place has the potential of becoming an invaluable resource.

I have a bachelor in anthropology from Moesgaard and soon I will complete an MA in Visual Anthropology. I specialise in the anthropology of emotion and religious experience.

Christian Suhr

Filmmaker, Associate professor and coordinator of the Eye & Mind MSc-Track of Visual Anthropology at Aarhus University.

I am a member of COMMUNITAS because I love seeing the work of colleagues and students at the Department of Anthropology and I feel too much of what we do ends up collecting dust in drawers. I hope we can use COMMUNITAS as a place to communicate and share: a platform to make the ideas, thoughts, and projects we are working on known to each other.

My research has focused on invisible spirits, psychiatric illnesses, demonic and divine forces, and how film can be used to approach unseen dimensions of human life. I have explored these topics during fieldwork projects in Egypt, Papua New Guinea, and Denmark.

In the summer of 2020 I finished my bachelor in Anthropology and Philosophy, and I am now currently completing my master’s degree in General Anthropology here in Aarhus. Outside of academia I like to spend my time doing something creative, such as writing novels, songs or painting.

When I heard of COMMUNITAS I was intrigued by the possibility of creating a community for anthropologists, where we can come together to share knowledge, inspire each other and generally discuss different current topics in our field. I look forward to seeing Communitas bloom and grow into the kind of community I believe it has the potential to become.

In high school, I thought I was going to be an engineer. But things change and now I hold a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Aarhus University. Throughout my years of study I have developed a personal interest in medical and visual anthropology, and my greatest inspiration and favourite monograph is Righteous Dopifiend by Philippe Bourgois and Jeffrey Schonberg.

I joined the editorial board of Communitas as I was looking for a place to combine my anthropological curiosity with creative projects. My goal is to spend more time with my fellow anthropologist in an academic setting, learn new things, and have fun while doing it.

Cameron Warner

I am a cultural anthropologist who studies Tibet, Nepal, and the Himalayas. My previous work has focused on the history and practice of Buddhism, especially in relation to material culture, politics, gender, music, and migration. I serve as the Director of the Research Program in Anthropology, an umbrella structure that collaborates with all of the research projects and PhD education at AU Anthropology and Human Security.

I joined Communitas in order to help foster the sense of interconnection and mutual support, especially between faculty and students, he was priveleged to experience as an undergraduate student.

Ida Grundfør

I am in the process of taking my bachelor's degree in anthropology here in Aarhus. In addition to anthropology and university, I love to take photographs and go for walks along Marselisborg beach. I discovered anthropology through the crime TV series 'Bones' and I dream of either taking a master's degree in medical or visual anthropology.

I chose to become part of Communitas' editorial staff because I wanted to contribute to the anthropological academic environment here at Moesgaard and hopefully be able to provide some creative and visual inputs.

Lærke Kappel

I am a BA student in Anthropology at Moesgaard, set to graduate in 2024.

As I wish to pursue a career in journalism, I am interested in the ways we can communicate anthropology and how our field can contribute to new understandings of what it is to be human. I choose to be a part of COMMUNITAS in order to explore Anthropology outside the lectures and experiment with different medias and storytelling.

Sophie Davies

My name is Sophie and I am currently enrolled in BA anthropology, 5th semester. I chose to become a memeber of the COMMUNITAS editorial board to have the freedom to work with new and and exciting projects outside of teaching.

I also see COMMUNITAS as a brilliant opportunity to work across the different bachelor and masters cohorts and build community more broadly at Moesgaard.

Rasmus Mondrup

My name is Rasmus, and I'm currently enrolled in BA anthropology. I chose to be part of COMMUNITAS because I find it very interesting how we can combine anthropological research and knowledge production with multiple media platforms such as film, podcasts, or soundtracks. Currently, I'm interested in how we approach nothingness and meaninglessness in anthropology.

I joined the editorial board of COMMUNITAS because I’d like to contribute to a platform where ideas and projects (even unfinished) can be shared between everyone at the department.
